DAALAUNDA
Cold toddy, hot fry, no fuss — a local bar for the evenings after the tide comes in.
About
Where the tide meets the table.
Daalaunda started as four tables under a tiled roof and a toddy pot that never quite emptied. Nothing here is plated for a photograph — the rava fry comes out blistered and loud with curry leaf, the toddy is poured from the same tin jug it's been poured from for years.
We keep it simple: cold drinks, a fry pan that's always hot, and enough plastic chairs for whoever walks in off the road. Most nights, that's neighbours, off-duty fishermen, and a few people who drove in just for the anjal fry.
